Bloody Mary

Vodka Based
Method : Build (or can be shaken)
Glass : Highball
Garnish : Celery Stick with Leaves (optional) Wedge of Lime

"Harry's New York Bar in Paris in 1921 was the birthplace of this classic drink. In 1921 barman Fernand 'Pete' Petiot mixed tomato juice, vodka, salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce. While therewas  nothing new about the combination of vodka and tomato, thename was. According to many accounts, Petiot named his mix inhonour of Hollywood actress Mary Pickford. The celery stick garnish originated in the 1960s: when a drinker at the Pump Room in the Ambassador Hotel inChicago received his Bloody Mary without the usual swizzletick, he picked up a celery stick from a tray of crudites and  used it to stir his drink and the garnish was born. Eat your garnish if you want to!"
